Travel Vaccinations We Offer

Our pharmacists can advise and administer the following vaccines in a safe, clinical setting:

  • Cholera (Oral Vaccine)

Cholera is a bacterial infection spread through contaminated food and water, especially in areas with poor sanitation. The oral cholera vaccine offers protection for travellers heading to regions affected by outbreaks, such as parts of Africa, Asia, and Central America. It is taken as a drink in two doses.

  • Diphtheria, Tetanus & Polio (DTP)

This combined vaccine protects against three serious diseases often found in developing regions. A booster is recommended for travellers whose last dose was more than 10 years ago, particularly when visiting parts of Africa, Asia, or Eastern Europe.

  • Hepatitis A Vaccine

Hepatitis A is a viral liver infection transmitted through contaminated food and drink. This vaccine is recommended for travel to countries with poor food hygiene standards, including parts of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America.

  • Hepatitis B Vaccine

Hepatitis B spreads through blood and bodily fluids and poses a higher risk for long-term travellers, healthcare workers, and those engaging in activities like dental treatment or tattooing abroad. A course of injections offers long-lasting protection.

  • Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine

This mosquito-borne viral infection affects the brain and is found in rural parts of Asia and the Western Pacific. The vaccine is advised for travellers spending extended time in endemic areas, especially during the rainy season.

  • Meningitis ACWY Vaccine

Meningitis is a serious bacterial infection that can lead to life-threatening complications. The ACWY vaccine protects against four strains and is often required for travel to sub-Saharan Africa’s meningitis belt and for those attending the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages.

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Vaccine

Measles, mumps, and rubella are highly contagious viral illnesses. If you were born after 1970 and haven’t received two doses, vaccination is recommended before travelling to areas with low immunisation rates or ongoing outbreaks.

  • Rabies Vaccine

Rabies is a fatal viral infection transmitted through the bite or scratch of an infected animal. Vaccination is recommended for long stays or remote travel in Asia, Africa, Central and South America, where access to emergency care may be limited.

  • Tick-Borne Encephalitis Vaccine

Tick-borne encephalitis is a viral infection affecting the brain and spinal cord. It’s spread through tick bites in forested areas of Europe and parts of Asia. The vaccine is recommended for campers, hikers, and rural travellers in these regions.

  • Typhoid Vaccine

Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection contracted through contaminated food or water. Vaccination is recommended for travellers to parts of South Asia, Africa, and South America, especially if staying with local families or in rural areas.

  • Yellow Fever Vaccine

Yellow fever is a serious viral disease spread by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America. The vaccine provides lifelong protection and is required for entry into some countries. An official Yellow Fever certificate is issued after vaccination.

If you’re unsure which vaccinations you need, we’ll advise you during your consultation based on your destination, itinerary, and health history.

Antimalarial Medication

If you’re travelling to a country with a risk of malaria, you may need to take antimalarial tablets before, during, and after your trip. Our travel health team will assess your risk based on where you’re going and help you choose the right medication — such as Atovaquone/Proguanil, Doxycycline, or Mefloquine.

We’ll also provide important advice on mosquito bite prevention and general travel health tips to help you stay safe while abroad.
