Ovex Suspension Banana Flavoured Family Pack – 30ml is an effective oral treatment for threadworm (pinworm) infections, suitable for adults and children over 2 years of age. Each 5ml dose contains 100 mg of mebendazole, an anthelmintic agent that works by inhibiting the uptake of glucose by the worms, leading to their eventual death.
Threadworm infections are highly contagious and can spread rapidly within households. This banana-flavoured suspension provides a palatable alternative for those who have difficulty swallowing tablets, making it an ideal solution for families. The 30ml bottle contains six 5ml doses, allowing treatment for multiple family members.
It is recommended that all family members (except pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under 2 years) be treated simultaneously to prevent reinfection. In cases where reinfection occurs, a second dose may be administered after two weeks.
